Operations Intelligence

Ecommerce operations intelligence, not another dashboard

Operations intelligence is the practice of turning the messy reality of running an ecommerce business — orders, returns, inventory, cost, cohorts — into a small set of decisions per week. Reversify is a platform purpose-built for that job. Everything in it exists to shorten the distance between an operational signal and the action it should trigger.

  • Unified model across orders, returns, inventory, and cost
  • Health scoring for SKUs, channels, and cohorts
  • Written briefings scoped to each role
  • Actions pushed back to Shopify, email, and Slack

The problem generic BI does not solve

Business intelligence tools are powerful and generic. Their strength is also their weakness: they do not know that a return is different from an order, or that a SKU has a healthy days-on-hand window, or that a discount cohort returns at a different rate than an organic cohort. Every ecommerce brand that starts with a generic BI stack ends up rebuilding that domain model in dashboards, one metric at a time, over months.

Reversify ships with the model already in place. Returns, SKUs, cohorts, dispositions, carrying cost, and margin after returns are first-class concepts. You do not have to build them; you inherit them.

The three loops operations intelligence has to close

Detection. Something in the business changed. A SKU's return rate spiked, a channel's contribution flipped negative, or an inventory position aged past a threshold. Reversify detects these changes automatically instead of relying on someone to notice.

Explanation. The change gets attributed to the most likely cause using the other data in the account. A returns spike gets tied to a specific SKU or campaign; a margin drop gets tied to a supplier or a discount policy.

Action. The decision has to leave the platform. Reversify pushes actions into Shopify (tags, drafts, product updates), into email (segment exports), and into Slack (assigned tasks). The value only materializes when the loop closes.

A single source of truth for every function

One of the quiet costs of running an ecommerce brand is that finance, marketing, merchandising, and operations frequently see different versions of the same number. Marketing looks at gross revenue, finance looks at revenue net of refunds, merchandising looks at units, and operations looks at margin after logistics. When they meet, they argue about definitions rather than deciding what to do.

Reversify collapses that overhead by giving every function a view backed by the same underlying data. Definitions are shared, drill-throughs go to the same rows, and disagreements move from "whose number is right" to "what should we do about the number."

What operations intelligence looks like in a week

On Monday, the weekly briefing lands. It contains three to five items: usually one revenue movement, one inventory item, one returns item, and one cohort item. The team reviews the briefing in the operations standup and assigns owners. Through the week, each owner works from their scoped view.

By Friday, the actions taken during the week are visible in the platform: a bundle launched, a creative paused, a supplier reorder deferred. On the next Monday, the briefing measures the impact and recommends the next set of decisions.
